Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present a Cabinet of Curiosities, Decorative Arts & More on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Featuring more than 290 lots from multiple collectors and estates, the sale offers a wide range of items from around the world, from the 17th century to the present day.
Unusual items include original cels from Disney’s “Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs;” a Sepik River mask; a Gothic-style religious triptych; silvered Aztec warrior busts; an erotic Meerschaum pipe; and several antique weapons. Among the many artworks are paintings by Chuck J. Sabatino, Harry Raymond Henry; and David Allen Halbach; Jules Chéret lithographs; antique botanical plates by Mark Catesby; antique maps by Pierre Lepautre and Joan Blaeu; several bronze sculptures; a pen & ink drawing by Charles Schulz; and a selection of erotic photographs. There are several pieces of furniture, including an Italian Rococo and several games tables, plus clocks from Tiffany and Leroy & Fils.
Porcelain, majolica and china come from Herend, Havilland, Gien, Limoges, Wedgewood and Cauldon; with glassware by Lalique, Baccarat and Steuben. There is sterling or silverplate tableware, serving ware and flatware from Tiffany, Christofle and George III. Pottery makers include Daum, Studio Art, Utopian, and Rookwood, plus an extensive collection of Moorcroft.
Wearables include jackets, a coat, and a cape of mink; silver or gold rings, some with turquoise or jade; and groupings of vintage jewelry. From Japan are prints, a gilt lantern, and table box; from China come silk embroidered jackets, cloisonné pieces, vases, export ceramics, an incense burner, bronze pheasants, and an array of snuff bottles. Completing the sale are an antique altar pricket, carousel models and music boxes, books, ambro- and tintype images, and stereoscope Diableries photos.
