Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present Designer Necklaces from Tamara Hill Studio, featuring over 85 one-of-a-kind necklaces. Each is composed of rare antique and ethnic components, pendants, beads, semi-precious stones, minerals and shells; these are repurposed into elegant, colorful contemporary statement pieces with an antiquarian look that reflects the legacy, spirit and magic of many cultures.
Fine hand-woven macramé and knotted cords in subtle hues, vintage button closures, handcrafted clasps, and attention to detail are the trademarks of her designs. Tamara’s work has been featured in Ornament, the magazine of personal adornment (September 2008). Often treasured as personal talismans, her designs have also been shown in galleries and boutiques throughout California, in Santa Fe and Tucson, at the Asian Art Museum and Xanadu Gallery in San Francisco, and at the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art in New York.
