Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present the Summer Mélange Auction. Offering over 255 lots, the sale features a diverse range of artworks, decorative arts and other items from the 17th-20th centuries from America, Europe and Asia. Artworks in various media include landscapes, seascapes, portraits, abstracts and more. Among the artists are William Alexander Gaw, Chiura Obata, Ray Prohaska, William Mellor and Dirk Smit. Creators of Western and Native American works include Jim Abieta, William Murphy and R. C. Gorman. A wide selection of decorative arts includes pottery, vases, sterling silver candlesticks, bronze statues, Inuit sculptures, art glass, busts, lamps and more. Among items from the 19th century are portraits, snuff and enamel boxes, embroidery, portrait photographs, inkwells, engravings, etchings, lithographs, and a mantle clock. From Japan are woodblock prints from Hiroshige II, Kunisada, Utagawa and others; a four-panel screen, watercolors, jars and tea cabinets. From China are a brass vase, polychrome and porcelain bowls, incense burners, and antique figures. Other items in the sale include 17-18th English documents, vintage fishing reels and cameras, tribal arts catalogs and toys.
